PROJECT BIO

Farnborough Airport is a full-service private airport for passengers, crew and aircraft and is one of the most modern airports of its kind in Europe.

In order to continue pushing the boundaries, the airport has an ambition to invest £41m to remodel part of its operational area and create a new 16,320 sq. m hangar, that will house 12 aircraft in four bays.

Tate Consulting provided full M&E design services for the new hangar, its support space and offices.

The facility has fully automatic 12m high doors, which are open for long periods, so an innovative radiant panel system has been specified to heat the building efficiently and effectively. Specialist design items that we have also incorporated include recessed utility pits and compressed air systems.
