Shane is an experienced engineer and real estate professional with more than 25 years of experience that spans operational delivery and board level strategic management, and has been involved in the delivery of major landmark infrastructure projects up to £150m GBP throughout the UK and internationally for some of the worlds best brands and funds, such as; Amazon, Wal-Mart, Coca-Cola, Britvic, Ballymore & Oxley, Apache Capital & Moda Living, Tritax, John Lewis Pension Fund, Mars Real Estate Fund, Tesco Pension Fund.
Prior to setting up his own company, Shane was Associate Director tor for top global professional consulting firm, WSP Group Plc.
Shane is educated to Master’s degree level in engineering and Real Estate Investment & Finance, is a registered professional engineer with the Engineering Council, a member of The Chartered Institute of Building and The Institution of Engineering & Technology.
Away from work, Shane enjoys spending time with his family, walking and also enjoys skiing, game shooting and fly fishing.
Shane is an experienced engineer and real estate professional with more than 25 years’ experience at operational and board level.
Claire Tate is a management practitioner with 25 plus years’ experience in the public and private sectors at operational and board level.
Claire’s key skill includes; multi-disciplinary team working, highly perceptive communication skills, human resource management, development and mentorship and bringing a practical approach to problem solving and process management.
Claire spent 12 years working in NHS General Practice, 7 years at management level and successfully led a team of over 50 staff through Investors in People.
In 2002 Claire was appointed Director at Tate Consulting, with strategic board and operational management responsibilities, which included in-house payroll for 50 staff. Claire holds a BA (Hons) in Management and is a Fellow member of the Chartered Management Institute and is currently studying a Certificate in Corporate Governance at the Governance Institute (ICSA).
Outside of work, Claire spends half a day/week with Home-Start, a leading national family support charity and enjoys spending time with family, travel and rural walking with her pet working cocker spaniel; as well as likes meeting interesting people!
Claire is a management practitioner with more than 25 years’ experience in the public and private sectors at operational and board level.
Ray is a Director at Tate Consulting with a strong focus on operational and project delivery. Ray has over 25 years experience in building services design and over the years has worked with clients such as Asda, B&M, Poundstretcher, Debenhams and Leeds City Council. Recent projects include the delivery of a number of Asda’s distribution centre’s which have been designed and built to the highest sustainability standards, performing on average 30% more energy efficient than typical DC’s. Ray is focused on delivering high quality solutions to our clients and applies his no nonsense approach and wealth of expertise to challenge designs and engineer out unnecessary systems, often generating huge savings on projects and delivering maximum value to our clients. Ray enjoys spending time with his family and when feeling energetic enjoys playing squash and swimming.
Ray is a Director at Tate Consulting with a strong focus on operational and project delivery with more than 25 years’ experience adding value to all types of industrial and commercial schemes throughout the UK.
Jim is a Chartered Engineer with over thirty years’ experience in building services and the built environment. Jim has worked throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe with blue chip clients such as Adobe, New York Stock Exchange, Apple, CITI bank, Marks & Spencer and Westfield. He is a BREEAM assessor and has delivered both BREEAM Excellent and LEED Platinum projects including Adobes first LEED Platinum outside of the US. At Tate Consulting Jim has a particular focus to the commercial, retail, residential and civic sectors and brings the unrivaled expertise, passion and insight that Tate Consulting is recognised for. Jim’s wife hails from Yorkshire so for him it’s a case of coming home although he often pops back to Belfast to visit family and friends.
Jim is a Chartered Engineer with more than 30 years’ experience in building services and the built environment.
Aaron joined Tate Consulting in 2022 to head up our newly opened Belfast office after previously working for several well-known engineering firms in Northern Ireland for more than 25 years. After originally training as an Electrical Engineer, he has extensive experience in the design, installation and commissioning of all types of electrical engineering services, with specialist expertise in low energy design, sustainability and renewable energy systems. His exceptional industry experience and wide-ranging wealth of contacts has been a key factor in the office’s rapid growth which now has a 10-strong team, as well as numerous high profile contract wins across Northern Ireland, Ireland and beyond. Outside work Aaron is a keen supporter of Ulster Rugby and enjoys spending time and travelling with his young family.

Aaron is an Associate at Tate Consulting Leeds with more than 20 years experience in building services design and verification. He covers a wide range of large scale projects throughout the UK and Europe having a strong focus within the retail, commercial and logistics sectors.
Away from work Aaron is an avid Rugby League fan and also enjoys good food and socials with family and friends
Aaron is an Associate in Tate Consulting’s Leeds office and has more than 20 years’ experience designing and overseeing the installation of all types of mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems.
After graduating from Ulster University with a degree in Energy and Building Services Engineering, Kevin then successfully completed an MSc in Renewable Energy and Energy Management and spent several years working in London. In 2018 he returned home to Belfast working for one of the world’s largest engineering practices.
He joined Tate Consulting’s Belfast office in 2022 and his popularity with clients combined with his ability to oversee projects from MEP concept design to project handover and post-occupancy evaluation, meant he was soon promoted to Associate Director.
He now continually adds value on large-scale, high-profile residential projects that are often located in prime city centre locations, as well as being a successful mentor to our graduate engineers, which makes him an integral member of our leadership and management team. Away from the office, Kevin likes to stay active, playing both football and golf, as well as participating in regular 5km park runs. He also enjoys holidaying with his family.
