14 Jun TATE CONSULTING APPOINTED ON YORK’S ROMAN QUARTER DEVELOPMENT
Tate Consulting has been appointed to work on a major new mixed-use scheme that is planned for York city centre and will be anchored by a substantial world class visitor attraction alongside offices, retail, residential and leisure space.
Known as The Roman Quarter, the development is a bold vision by Rougier Street Developments and North Star, which plan to redevelop the site with the York Archaeological Trust.
The scheme will transform the whole area with better public realm and more activity in this part of the city centre. The development team say it will be a ‘major economic boost for York’, generating more than £315m for the local economy over 30 years, as well as 625 new jobs.
As well as the Roman attraction, to be called Eboracum, the latest plans feature an 88-bedroom hotel, 153 apartments and 2,322 m2 of office space.
